  1. August 12, 2012 meeting notes:

The club picnic was scheduled for September 9, 2012 at Seward Bluffs.

There was discussion on the south course. More designing to take place after foliage drops in late fall & the final design will need approval the RPD board.

The Outlaw Finals are scheduled for September 22 & 23 at Justin Trails. We are trying to fill two 9 player teams. People interested in attending should contact Barry Maxwell or Charles Holz ASAP!

There was discussion on the disc golf play day for kids scheduled for Saturday September 15, 2012. It falls on the same weekend of the A tier in Peoria but many club members will still be available for the event.

Nominations are open for any club member interested in an officer position. Elections will be held during the October 7, 2012 club meeting. Nominations made at the August 12, 2012 club meeting:
    Brian Larson, Tournament Director
    Charles Holz, Vice President
    Barry Maxwell, President
    Mark Lawson, Honorary Member
(Honorary Members are club members recognized for their service to GRABM & the sport of disc golf. One member elected per year.)

A motion for absentee ballots for club members who can’t make the October meeting will need to be voted on during the picnic on September 9, 2012.

  2. Charles Holz has been nominated & seconded as a candidate for Tournament Director. He has removed himself as a candidate for VP.

  3. I heard there was a doubles, bring your own partner, outing near the end of this month. What are the details for entering under intermediate, what day is it, and is it one game or two? And lastly, how long approximately would it run till?

    • Chris —

Yep, the Halloween Havoc is our yearly bring-your-own doubles tourney. Tourneys usually start at 9:30 am with a break for lunch after the first round. I imagine for this doubles tourney we’ll be done around 3:30

  4. Many thanks to those who helped with the Halloween Havoc & to those who attended. A full report is forthcoming.
We now look forward to our first club meeting with some new officers at their posts on Sunday November 4th at 1:00. We will have the meeting at Anna Page Park if weather permits. Many have complained about the length of meetings so I’ve written a basic outline to expedite our club business at meetings. Please give me feedback so I can make improvements if necessary.

    Outline for GRABM meetings

    Secretary’s Report
    Minutes from last meeting

    Treasurer’s Report
    Assets & expenses

    TD’s Report
    Leagues & tournaments

    VP’s Report
Fund raising, tournament & league sponsorship, media, etc

    President’s Report
Interaction with RPD & other entities

    1. Secretary will announce motions for final vote from previous meetings.

    2. President will open the floor for motions (motions require a 2nd to be put into the records). Discussion will follow the motion. An interim vote will follow only if immediate action is required. Final vote on the motion will then be tabled until the next scheduled meeting.

    3. General discussion on business may precede or follow the meeting but it will not be included in club records or be subject to vote. Person who presides over the meeting will open & close meetings so members know when the floor is open for motions or votes. Any officer can fulfill other officer’s duties at scheduled meetings in the case they can’t attend.
